About Us

Sk88—Skate Forever and its line; Blades × Edges—was created in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy.  After Flight 5342, our skating world changed forever. We lost athletes, coaches, mentors, friends—people whose lives shaped a small, very tight, and fiercely dedicated, committed community devoted to skating.

For one father—a former U.S. Marine and parent to a full-time figure skater—the grief demanded action. From that resolve came our first design, Blades n Roses,” a commemorative call-to-action, to honor those lost on that devastating day. Drawing upon the Marine Corps ethos—“Once a Marine, Always a Marine” and the immortal rallying cry “Marines Live Forever”—he carried that same spirit into the rink and into the inaugural SK88 designs. The emblematic crossed blades symbolize the commitment, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication shared by our athletes and their families, mirroring those sacrifices, virtues of the Marines.

The 5342 emblem stands as a tribute—an eternal reminder of their light, their passion, and the beauty they brought to every blade, every edge, every moment on the ice—to honor them, continue their legacy, and to skate forever.
